White Label Mode
White Labeling a client’s website will allow you to hide all visible instances of the name “Restaurant Engine” when viewing the website or viewing the dashboard. This way, your clients won’t be in contact with us.
Newly created websites on Restaurant Engine (both your first website and additional websites) are not white labeled by default. You must follow the steps below fully white label each website you create for your clients.
White Label Mode: Enabled vs. Disabled
Before we go into how to white label a website, first let’s understand the differences between a newly created website on Restaurant Engine, and that website after it has been “White Labeled”.
The following elements appear on the website by default:
White Label Settings Page
![]()
The White Label Settings page is where you go to enable/disable White Label mode. Obviously, you don’t want your clients to have the ability to turn OFF White Label mode, so once White Label mode is enabled, this settings page is removed.
Important
Before enabling White Label mode, it is highly recommended that you bookmark the White Label Settings page, as this will be the only way you can access it after enabling White Label mode!
The URL of the White Label Settings page is your website URL, followed by “/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=white-label-settings”. For example:
http://myrestaurant.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=white-label-settings
The xyz.restaurantengine.com URL

Every new site created on Restaurant Engine gets a .restaurantengine.com URL. Later, you can point your own domain (or your client’s domain) to replace this.
Help Menu & My Account Link

At the top-right of the website dashboard are the ‘Help Menu’ and ‘My Account’ links, both of which link to restaurantengine.com. These will be removed when White Label mode is enabled.
Tutorials

There is a Tutorials page built into the dashboard. There are also links to these tutorials shown on the Home page of the dashboard. Both the Tutorials page and the links to tutorials on the dashboard homepage will be removed when White Label mode is enabled.
Restaurant Engine Credit Option

In the ‘Website Options’, under the ‘Misc’ tab, there is an option to display or hide the Restaurant Engine credit link at the bottom of the public website. This option is removed when White Label mode is enabled.
Custom Domain Settings

The custom domain settings page is where you go to configure your custom domain. After pointing a domain to the site, this page displays the original (deactivated) xyz.restaurantengine.com option, should you ever need to reactivate it. The custom domain settings page is removed when White Label mode is enabled.
While the public website and the dashboard can be fully White Labeled, the source code of the website does contain references to restaurantengine.com. Due to technical limitations, we’re not able to hide these. However, it is highly unlikely clients will go so far as to investigate the source code and seek out these references.
